Explore the work of the award winning british contemporary landscape artist
My drawings are developed in the studio from en-plein air pieces. I work in the field, assimilating as much information as possible, be in geography, atmosphere or weather. Once back in the studio I scale up my preliminary drawings and being to add abstract architectural design elements, to add tension and narrative to my work. I use a variety of mediums: from ink, charcoal and carbon powder, gold paste to collage alongside a selection of different erasers and 'rubbing back' methods.
